A Life on Mission: Ed & Sandy Zogg’s Calling in the Dominican Republic
Ed and Sandy Zogg were born and raised in upstate New York. Sandy grew up on a farm outside of Berkshire, NY, located between Binghamton and Ithaca, and Ed grew up in Baldwinsville, near Syracuse.
Ed and Sandy have been married since 1996 and are the parents of three wonderful adult children: Robert (wife Fexayra and grandson Edward), Rachel, and Krista. Ed holds a bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and an associate degree in Mechanical Technology from Onondaga Community College. Sandy holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from RIT and an associate degree in Data Processing from SUNY Cobleskill.
Ed and Sandy serve with Alliance Marketplace Ministries, which helps send professional people to closed-access and developing countries to use their skills to build relationships, make disciples, and strengthen the local church. Marketplace ministry workers raise all of their own financial support, except for healthcare, which comes from the Great Commission Fund.

Since October 2013, their family has served in the Dominican Republic. Their primary responsibilities have been teaching English and pastoring an English-speaking church on the east side of Santo Domingo, the capital city, where they use English as a tool to reach the lost. The church is modeled after the church in Acts, Chapter 2.
Their ministries have included outreach to orphans, young mothers, and the poor; weekly Bible studies and Kids Club; evangelism in neighborhoods and hospitals; medical mission teams; youth activities; music ministry; teaching English; evangelistic mission trips across the island; microenterprise projects with the poor; clean water projects; prison ministry; home building projects; and hospitality.
Recently, they were able to purchase land to build a children’s center and church, are in the process of purchasing a building for another center, and have partnered with a long-time friend and pastor at a third center. Over the last 2½ years, they have also worked to start a child sponsorship program across three sites in the Dominican Republic. The program launched right before Christmas, and they are currently in the U.S. recruiting 75 sponsors.
Their ministry focus is to use every opportunity to reach the lost, raise up disciples, and be good stewards of all that God has entrusted to them.
